I Am In Need Of More Prayers

I believe strongly in the power of prayer. I am requesting you to pray for me. If you would like to add me to your churches prayer list, I would appreciate that as well.

As most of you know, I was diagnosed with GBS (Guillain-Barre' Syndrome) 2 and a half years ago and have been trying to recover from it ever since. I struggle with constant pain every day.

The neuropathy is getting worse. I swell up in my legs and feet at night. As you may remember, in June, I was diagnosed with Barrett's Esophagus. I also suffer with chronic migraines about 15 or so days out of most months.

This past week I start thowing up blood, so I am scheduled for an EGD on Monday. I had an appointment with my neurologist yesterday where I told him about how my migraines have moved from the front my head to the back of my head. I mentioned that I have been having memory loss as well as time lapses. I have gone to bed with a migraine and woke up four days later still thinking it was the next day. I have been experiencing blackouts and slurred speech. Simple tasks of such as writting checks are hard to do and other symptoms are occuring.

The neurologist did test in his office were he determined that there was something going on with my brain. He thought there might be a protien build up in my spine and brain. He believes that I have fluild pressing on my brain, so I will be doing a series of tests. The first test will be an MRI of my brain, an EEG done at the office and a 72 hour EEG done at home. I may have a spinal tap done in the office after the EEGs have been done as well.

I know that God is good and always provides.

I am asking for your prayers, encouragment and understanding during during this the next two months. If you would like to leave a word of encouragement or prayer you are welcome to do so.
I love and apprecaite all of your thoughts and comments on this blog. You do help bring some joy to my life.

If you could also leave a word and prayer for my wife she is such a support and stroghold in my life. She needs prayers as she works and takes care of the boys and me over the next several months.

Oh thank goodness your posted this now I don't have to say anything about your big church issues and I can just be sweet and nice and uplifting and say I didn't even read your whole post I just saw the reminder of you diagnosis and the word neuropathy and I had a surge of prayerfulness for you as I originally did over at someone else's site that caused me to come here. So now, know that you will be prayed for mightily by a puny person who has issues with big church. But really all kidding aside I will indeed pray greatly for you and your family.

As you know Kinney, our God knows what's going on with your brain, your spine, etc. I pray for healing/restoration in God's time. I pray for wisdom and knowledge on behalf of the docs and nurses who will minister to you.

I'm also praying for peace and comfort for the wife and kids.

Bless you Bro!

What then shall we say to these things? If God is for us, who can be against us? He who did not spare his own Son but gave him up for us all, how will he not also with him graciously give us all things? Who shall bring any charge against God’s elect? It is God who justifies. Who is to condemn? Christ Jesus is the one who died—more than that, who was raised— who is at the right hand of God, who indeed is interceding for us.Who shall separate us from the love of Christ? Shall tribulation, or distress, or persecution, or famine, or nakedness, or danger, or sword? As it is written,
"For your sake we are being killed all the day long;we are regarded as sheep to be slaughtered."
No, in all these things we are more than conquerors through him who loved us.For I am sure that neither death nor life, nor angels nor rulers, nor things present nor things to come, nor powers, nor height nor depth, nor anything else in all creation, will be able to separate us from the love of God in Christ Jesus our Lord. (Romans 8:31-39)

Bro' Kenney,

It isn't always necessary to know the "whys" of life when we know the "Who" of everlasting life. Nothing comes to one of his own without his knowledge, nothing takes him by surprise. Right in the middle of our worst circumstance He is there with us, perhaps to deliver us, perhaps not, but in any event to go along with us.

Keep trusting the faithfulness and character of God and He will see you through. The passage above from Romans is a great comfort to me in troublesome times. I hope it will encourage your heart.

Give your wife my best, I will remember you to the Father.

Kinney,

My prayers are for your complete, perfect health.

I will be praying for a miracle.

Praying for less seems (to me) to be a lack of faith in the God who created all, and a lack of love for someone who has encouraged me so much.

Your brother,

- Keith

Dearest Kinney -

My heart goes out to you in these terrible struggles that are so ravaging your entire body. I, too, am lifting up fervent prayers on your behalf and for your entire family.

As Keith said, May God work His miracles on you and heal you completely so that you may resume the normal activities of life, pain free.

Please e-mail me at "dee_andrews@bellsouth.net" when you feel well enough. I've somehow lost your current e-mail address and was not able to contact you earlier today.

Thanks.

Many blessings to each of you today!

Dee

Kinney,

I am so sorry, though I have been praying for you off and on, and espeically so after you left a comment the other day on my blog. I tried to reply this morning on a computer at work, but pushed the wrong button and shut down the computer, not long before I was going to send it.

Father, Touch Kinney. Bring healing in your presence to his body. Be with the doctors. Grant them insight, and give much grace to Kinney and to Kinney's wife during this time. Surround Kinney and his family in your most tender loving care. Make his life an even brighter testimony and encouragement to even more through all of this. Grant him your special presence. And blessing through your people. I pray through Jesus our Lord. Amen.

Thank you everybody for the thoughts and prayers. Please continue to pray for us. The doctor is thinking he has Hydrocephaly and the treatment for that is almost always putting a shunt in the brain to drain the cerebrospinal fluid that's not draining correctly.
He still has several tests between now and the end of April to confirm the diagnosis. It's been very difficult as it has been for a long time. Please pray for my strength.

Hey, Preacherman. I'm a relatively new visitor (and was off the blogs for a while now), so I had no idea of your health issues. But God knows. More importantly, He's always known what you would face, and He's had all eternity to plan out the solution. All that we need to do is trust in Him.

Job 13:15 says, "Though he slay me, yet will I trust in him."

My wife has a very "interesting" autoimmune illness, and my mom had MS, so I have some appreciation for what you're going through. I will pray for you and your family.
